The following is a condensed version of the Feb. meeting of the Gloucester County Ambulance and Rescue Association. Only the bound version of the minutes is to be considered the legal version of these minutes.

 

The January meeting was called to order at 1934 hours by President Holstrom at the Glassboro Fire Company (station 26-1).

  • Treasurers Report
    • Bills
      • For post office box rent
      • N.J. incorporation renewal
    • Checking account balance- $7,595.97
    • C.D. current balance $1705.06
    • Report accepted as read
  • Correspondence
    • The State has requested comment on a proposal to increase compensation for courses from $5 to $10. Form must be sent by mail, no faxes accepted.
  • ByLaws
    • Printing in progress, to be in booklet form
  • Reports
    • Training
      • Operation Jump Start dying from lack of funds. County planning substitute exercise.
    • EMT
      • Certification can be maintained if continuing ed is completed within two years. (For additional information, "Click here")
    • Communications Advisory Board
      • A. & R.A.: Life threat language change
      • Emergency Management: Reduced gallonage on tanker spill.
      • EMS: Triage chiefs meeting planned. 2000 triage tags obsolete- use for training exercises.
      • Fire Chiefs: When officer responds to alarm, often no timely check on status is made. Nextel base to be installed in E.O.C.
      • Old Business: Many departments are not taking advantage of the county's electronic fire reporting forms.
      • New business: Meeting schedule has been changed to Jan., April, June, Sept., and Nov. If an important issue arises an emergency meeting will be held
    • First Aid Council
      • Concern raised over pending legislation.
  • Trustees
    • Will review treasurers records.
  • Unfinished Business
    • Life threat dispatch, local squad redispatched when mutual aid on location three times in past month.
    • Association looking for some that can write grant proposals.
  • New business - None
  • Good of the Order
    • UMH- Access may be limited or rerouted shortly.
    • Kennedy- to establish dedicated area for pts. Requiring sutureing/sedation. Reports from squads are inadequate.

    • lmer- for access push call button or pound on door. Hear system number is 5603,reception may be limited if unit is on RT. 55
    • EMS TODAY scheduled for March in Philadelphia. Early registration ends soon. Discount for three or more registrations.
