- Tom Butts reports:
- Due to a higher security level in the county computer system, we are having a problem connecting with neighboring are E-team systems.
- April 22 will celebrate the center's 25th anniversary.
- Software for record keeping progressing;
- alternative dispatch site in a suite of former Shady Lane Home in progress.
- 9-1-1 equipment & support grant of $ 400,000 capitol budget is submitted;
- $ 2,000 for canteen support slated.
- Fire academy transfer to county college should be completed July 1st. This will provide greater funding and credibility plus course credits for the program. Industry has expressed interest in this training.
- Canopy System (wireless Motorola) to replace T-1 lines is progressing.
- Alternate site: proposed is a new room behind existing Shady Lane site, architects developing a plan proposal.
- A six bay garage for vehicles to be built behind prosecutor's office at Shady Lane.
- County has been allotted $ 700,000 from 911 surcharges for phone system up-grades. The county in now receiving funds that it should have received last May.
- New dispatch room furniture is on tap. Old furniture will go to alternate site.
- Three programs for radio interoperability are being tested. Licensing for Clements Bridge Road in process.
- Ambulance & Rescue:
- Are funds available for MTDs for ambulances? No.
- Emergency Mgt.:
- Nothing current. Conference May 8, 9, 10, 11, & 12.
- E.M.S.:
- Thirty ambulances still have not had kill switches installed. Accountability system lagging. Psych screening process in final stages.
- Fire Chiefs:
- MDT's one per dept. are scheduled for installation this year.
- Firemen's Association: No report
- General public: No comments
